BASS WISDOM
Welcome all you freshwater fishermen. This is the area where you will find information and words of wisdom from Glen Lau and other bass masters. We’ll post new fishing tips from Glen, Homer Circle, and others every week and also introduce you to Glen’s own blog.
Our bass wisdom section will also include information on how the weather effects the habits of the Bigmouth Bass and what that means for your chances of landing that big fish.
Tip #2
Vibration Lures
Back many years ago when I was in pursuit of largemouth bass, there was a fishing lure made by the Heddon Company called the Sonic. It was a small vibrating lure that when reeled through the water made a noise. At that time it was my all time favorite lure. The only place you can buy them today is in the antique lure market....very expensive. A bait company called Yozuri now makes a small lure that puts out a vibration. It's called a 3D flat crank. You can crank it fast and it will go 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet deep. Works very well in areas where the weeds are approximately 4 feet below the surface or in open water. It has become my favorite bait for late spring and early summer. I especially like the silver and gold color.
